Students may be taking classes at different levels at the same time. Students receive an average of 20-22 hours of instruction per week.

There are four levels in the IAU program, and although most students are able to fulfill the requirements for entry into a regular program after just one semester, the exact number of semesters required depends on the student’s level of English upon entry and their personal commitment to their studies.

In order to advance from one level to the next, students must obtain a “B” grade (75%) or higher in each class. Students in level four take a Communications course and a Computer course for which they will receive credit in their regular diploma program.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Students must be on campus to take assessment tests before the start of classes. Students are asked to contact the Centre for Academic Learner Services for testing

Students’ listening, reading, writing, and grammar skills are assessed.
