알버타주 보건부(AHS)는 올 가을까지 캘거리 시내 3개 종합병원에 132개 병상을 추가한다고 밝혔다.또한 152명의 파트타임과 풀타임 간호사도 추가로 고용한다.자세한 내용은 다음과 같다:- A new 32-bed short-term Convalescent Sub-Acute Care Unit at the RGH,providing focused transition and rehabilitation care to help patients returnto the community. This unit is slated to open in late September. The RGH hasalso added 10 beds that focus on providing care to patients with dementia.- A new 32-bed Transition Unit at the PLC, to provide care for patientswaiting for a community-based bed to become available, will open inmid-September.- A new 20-bed Hospice at the PLC, providing care that meets end-of-lifeneeds for clients and families for whom care at home is no longer possible,and who do not need the resources of a regular acute care unit, will open inNovember.- A new 38-bed Transition Unit, similar to the unit at the PLC, opens atthe Foothills Medical Centre in November. The opening of this unit willcoincide with completion of the new McCaig Tower in November.
