Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.)
Attention Motorists:
With our 2003 city collision statistics down, the Calgary Police Service wants to ensure th people using our streets remain safe. A Selective Traffic Program will be conducted by the Traffic Section from Sunday, January 11th through Saturday, January 24th, 2004.
The S.T.E.P. will focus on infractions at intersections, such as failing to stop, improper turns on red lights, and proceeding through red lights.
Note: Calgary Police charged 138 people with impaired driving offences during the December (Festive Season Check Stops) S.T.E.P. between December 1- 31st, 2003.
