2 Cor 6:14-18 We do not share the fate of demons
Last year the world was surprised due to the terrorists attack on the world trade center in Yew York. Thousands of the people were killed because of the attack. And the world declared the punishment on the terrorists and they sent their armies to Afganistan. It was to punish the ringleader bin Laden.
But some people went to Afganistan to help Bin Laden. They called themselves the holy soldiers and they said, "We are waging the holy war." But most of the Islam told it was not the holy war but the wrong action of the extremists. Nevertheless some people followed Bin Laden to the end. They wanted to share the fate with Bin Laden.
As a result of that, many of them died. Of course, they might say, "We died for the sake of Allah." And they might insist that they were martyrs. But we click our tongue and say, "Tut tut tut, they threw away their precious lives."
Brothers and sisters, we do not say, "They are the righteous persons. We do not say, "They died martyrs." The death with terrorists and demons is not martyrdom but useless death. If they are not apart from Bin Laden, they will face useless death. That is, useless death or martyrdom depend on who they die with.
Let me ask you a question. Who do you want to share the fate with ? Would you repeat after me ? "I will never share the fate of demons. I will share the fate of Jesus.." How good it is if all of the people resist demons and share the fate of Jesus !
But "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and thing thaught by demons." (1 Tim 4:1) Of course, they believe that they are not deceived by demons and they believe that they follow Jesus. But don't forget. Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (2 Cor 11:14)
The one of the signs of the last times is the appearance of the deceiving spirits. If you are deceived by the demons and follow the demons, the span of your life will end in tragedy.
Let's see Adam and Eve. They were the masterpieces and the lords of all creation. God blessed them to rule over every creature. And God planted the garden of Eden for them and made all kinds of trees that were pleasing to the eyes and good for food. God blessed them not to die but to live forever with God.
That is, humans were destined to live happy life forever. But their fate was changed in a moment. The garden of joy was changed to the garden of sorrow, and the ground was cursed so that it produced thorns and thistles, and peace and rest disappeared from them, the fate of death and diseases fell upon them.
Why did they have to face the fate of tragedy ? It was because they abandoned God but followed Satan. Brothers and sisters, don't forget. Your destiny depends on whom you follow. If you follow Jesus, your destiny is peace, joy, happiness and the kingdom of heaven. But if you follow Satan, your destiny is agony, sorrow, unhappiness and the hell.
Let me ask you a question. Whom do you want to follow in the short time of your life ? Who do you want to share your fate with ? Jesus or demons ? Christians are not the persons who share the fate with demons but with Jesus. Jesus said, "Follow me." (Matt 4:18) "Come to me." (Matt 11:28) "Learn from me." (Matt 11:29) He never said, "Go to demons and learn from demons."
Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy ; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10) That means, if you follow demons, your happiness will be stolen, you will lose your life and you will fall into the hell.
Therefore Jesus expelled demons wherever he went. And Jesus commanded us to expel demons. He never told us to share the fate with demons. Today's scripture says, "What do righteousness and wickedness have in common ? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness ? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever ? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols ? Therefore come out of from them and be separate." (2 Cor 6:14-17)
It means, Christians do not have to share the fate with demons. Bible says, "Depart, depart, go out from there !" (Isa 52:11) "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness." (Eph 5:11) "Have nothing to do with them." (2 Tim 3:5) "Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the command of my God." (Ps 119:115)
When we look at the Genesis 14, we can see that God sent his angels to Lot's family in order to take them out from the city Sodom and Gomorrah. It was because God did not want them to share the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah the city of demons.
And God commanded Noah to build the Ark, and told Noah's family to come into the Ark. It was to save them from the judgement because the people of that time was captivated by demons.
Brothers and sisters, we have to come out from the trap of demons as soon as possible. We have to turn our back on demons. If not, we will face the fate of demons. God does not want to punish the humans who were made in the image of Himself. God never enjoys sending the humans into the hell.
God made the hell for demons not for humans. But the humans go to the hell because they follow demons. Therefore the bible says, "A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish." (Ps 49:20)
Brothers and sisters, have you ever heard Molguishin (water demon) in Korean language ? Moolguishin wants to die together. He wants to perish together. He wants to go to the hell together. Therefore we have to take off Moolguishin from us. If not, we will perish with Moolguishin, we will be judged with Moolguishin. How sad it is if the happiest humans perish with the demon !
Therefore show your stern attitude against demons. And cast out demons. But remember. Demons are superior to us in respect of IQ and trickery. We cannot overcome demons with our power. The only way we can overcome demons is the name and blood of Jesus. Therefore shout Jesus' name and his blood. Bible tells us, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)
And keep this in mind. If you want to share the fate with Jesus, you have to take off the demon of pride. Jesus does not share the fate with the arrogant persons. Think. If anyone is possessed by the demon of pride, he always insists that he is on the right way even thought Jesus says, "You are on the wrong way."
Then how can he go with Jesus ? And how can he share the fate with Jesus ? Finally he will be separated from Jesus, and his fate will be entirely different from Jesus' fate. Then his life will not be prosperous.
Therefore the bible says, "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." (Pro 16:18) "God opposed the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6) If you are humble, you can obey Jesus and say, "Yes Lord, I will follow you because your way is always better than my way." Then you can go with Jesus, and your fate will be same as Jesus' fate. Then you can get the eternal life, eternal joy and eternal happiness.
Therefore if you want to share the fate with Jesus, take off the demon of pride first. And if you want to enjoy the happiness with Jesus, have nothing to do with the demon of pride. And shout flatly, "I will never share the fate with demons but with Jesus."
We do not share the fate of demons.
