How To Enroll Your Child at Heritage

Heritage’s Enrolment Guidelines

We believe that the strongest Christian character is built in an environment where family, friends and staff all share common beliefs. Therefore we require that one parent or the student (if he/she is in Junior or Senior High school) is a Christian – someone who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, knowing Him as Savior and Lord (John 3:16). If you have questions about this guideline, please feel free to speak to the principal or administrator.

We also believe that it is important for Christians to be in fellowship with each other so we also ask that the family be active participants in a local church or fellowship group. This information is required on the application form.

We recognize that we are not able to meet the needs of all students and the school is not a correctional institution for children with problems beyond those encountered in the average student. While we have a deep concern for troubled students, we strongly discourage consideration of the school as a place to "straighten them out."

Entrance is not based primarily on IQ or achievement.

Applications are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Students are then placed on a list in the order that their applications are received. Early application is strongly encouraged as waiting lists tend to grow as the school year approaches.

Entrance Procedure

You can pick up an application form any time during school hours from our Administration Office at 2003 McKnight Blvd NE. Or call or email us at hcaf@cadvision.com to have an enrolment package sent out.

1. If you haven’t already done so, we strongly recommend that you come tour the school and speak to the staff and administration about Heritage. This is probably the best way to get a sense of the atmosphere here and we'll answer your questions.

2. Return the Application Form including Parent and Student Covenant to the school. Include 10% of total tuition (one month's tuition) as a deposit with your enrollment forms. This amount is refunded if Heritage cannot place your child in the school, but otherwise is a non-refundable deposit.

3. We ask parents or guardians and the child to come to a personal interview. The school secretary will call you for an appointment time. Please bring your child’s birth certificate (not a copy) and his or her most current report card to the interview. These are necessary for the registration of your child.

4. After the interview, we will contact you, usually within a day or two confirming placement. At that time, you can make final arrangements with the accounting department regarding tuition payment. The remaining 90% of tuition can be paid in a lump sum with a discount or over 9 months.

5. Your student will want to be fitted for a uniform at this time, so they are ready for the first day of classes.

To that end, there are comprehensive music, sports, options and exploratory programs. The school is operated by a society comprised of participating families. A major renovation project is scheduled to be completed by the start of the new school year in September, 2001. Students divide their time between home and school. The centre offers a classical education in the tradition of Reformation scholarship, teaching history, classical literature, Latin, logic and rhetoric. Its two-day academic program operates on Mondays and Wednesdays, teaching Alberta government curriculum in English, math, science and physical education. New for this coming year is the introduction of an expanded four-day academic program to also include extra high school math and science as well as French and American Sign Language. On Friday, enrichment courses are offered in career and technology studies, drama, art and choir. The Friday classes are open to all home and blended schoolers in the Calgary area. Students must wear uniforms on academic days. Parents are expected to volunteer from time to time at the school.

출처 http://www.calgarychristian.com/private.htm
